  1. This ad has media bias because it uses a celebrity to promote gay rights in a positive way.

  2. Ellen D., Neil Patrick Harris and other celebrities give hope to others and I encourage movements like this.

    1. As many people in our country continue to fight for gay rights and many citizens begin to become more open-minded with this topic these celebrities help to gain support of their fans when fighting for gay rights and marriage equality.

  3. This advertisement is effective in that it conveys sympathy towards gay rights by showing how people can lose their jobs just for being homosexual. They make this even stronger by showing an example of someone who is very widely known and respected.

  4. 29/50 states would not hire Ellen, but I don't think that they would change their minds just because she is a well known person.

  5. Since Ellen Degeneres is a well known person with many fans and followers, this ad could potentionally help gain addition supportive coverage of fighting for gay rights. This ad is different from others on this site since it shows bias for gay rights, instead of against.

  6. It;s ridiculous that someone could be fired just because of their sexuality. Sexuality does not determine how well someone works. Obviously, Ellen has been very succesful in her life. The fact that if Ellen were to start her career in one of the anti gay states, she might not be where she is today, is mind boggling.

    1. We also believe that it is insane that someone as successful as Ellen Degeneres could be fired and not have the opportunity to become as successful as she has just because of her sexuality.

  7. I think that we as a people just need to advance along in our lives to the point where something like this doesn't matter to employers, because being LGBT doesn't even affect one's working performance. So, essentially, we just have to move on.

  8. I don't know why but this came across to me as a publicity stunt for Ellen D, although that is highly unlikely for it to be that.
